CIO: Sell to me—or else!

I recently had the opportunity to speak with the CIO of an innovative US passenger airline. This gentleman had just finished a presentation about how his organization is beyond aligned with “the business†at his employer, an acknowledgement of the popular “align IT with the business†mantra that has been so common for the past few years and remains very popular today. He described how IT must be much more than simply a service provider for the broader organization, and he made the case convincingly.
