Women who leave the workforce to raise their children often have a difficult time getting back into a job, especially one on the same level as before.
According to the Harvard Business Review, 43% of highly-qualified women with children, and 24% with an elderly parent, leave their jobs or take a career break. The financial price paid is an 18% decrease in their earning power on average—and a 37% decrease when they’re out for three years or more.
At Software AG India, we want this to change. We believe in the incredible experience, diversity and untapped potential that women bring in to the workforce. As part of our recruitment efforts, we’re targeting women in India who have dropped out of the workforce but are now looking to return to work. The program is an internship/returnship program that we call SoftwareAGain.
We understand the challenges and apprehensions of the women who want to return to work after an extended break. We think that with a little guidance and the right nudge, they can be a force to reckon with again.
The SoftwareAGain program aims to provide a foundation for women to sharpen their technical knowledge and brush up on soft skills through a systematic 16-week paid program. The participants will also be able to work as part of teams and contribute to achieving the organization's goals.
Upon successful completion, there will be an opportunity to gain employment (full-time or part-time) at Software AG. We want to be part of their journey - transforming their self-doubts to self-belief – and building a brighter and more fulfilling future for each other.
